New search

New search starts a project from a search on a site instead of from an address you already have. You search on the site's own page, inside NeoDownloader, and download from the results.

Start a search

Click New search above the list of projects. It is there only in the NeoDownloader window, not when NeoDownloader is open in a browser.

Where do you want to search? offers the sites: Google Images, Flickr and Bing Images. Click one, and its search page opens in the window.

Type what you are looking for into the site's own search box and set the site's own filters on its page: NeoDownloader has no search box of its own. The address the download will start from is shown above the page.

Along the top are:

  • the site's name - click it to switch to another site;
  • Download from this page;
  • Cancel, which closes the search;
  • a button that makes the page fill the window, or shrinks it back.

Download from this page

Click Download from this page when the results show what you want. What happens next depends on where the page is at that moment.

If you are still on the site you started on, NeoDownloader creates the project with Crawler and starts it at once. The project is named after what you searched for, or after the site when the address carries no search. The run takes the results with the search and the filters you set, and does not show you the page again before it starts.

If you clicked through from the results to another site, the New project wizard opens with that address, as if you had pasted it. A search engine that sends you to its site for another country counts as another site too.

What Crawler does on these sites is in Crawler.
