Keyboard shortcuts

The NeoDownloader window has no menu bar to list its keys, so they are collected here.

The window

Keys What it does
F11 Turns full screen on and off
Ctrl + + Makes everything bigger
Ctrl + Makes everything smaller
Ctrl + 0 Returns to the normal size
F5 or Ctrl + R Reloads the window
Ctrl + Shift + R Reloads the window without the cache - for when it shows something out of date
F12 or Ctrl + Shift + I Opens the developer tools - needed only when support asks what they show; see Reporting a problem

Reloading only redraws the window: downloads carry on.

Projects and files

Keys What it does
/ On the Files tab, takes you to Search by name
Esc Clears the search box you are typing in
Enter Opens the selected file, when one file is selected
Ctrl + click Adds a file to the selection, or takes it out
Shift + click Selects every file from the last one you clicked without Shift to this one

A double-click opens a file; on a project card, it opens the project's Properties window.

The border between the list of projects and the open project can be dragged. Click it, and and move it; a double-click puts it back at the usual width.

The viewer

A picture, a video, a sound file, a PDF or a text file you open on the Files tab is shown over the whole window.

Keys What it does
Shows the next file
Shows the previous file
Esc Closes the viewer

At the last file, stops rather than starting again from the first.

Dialogs and fields

  • Esc closes the dialog on top. When one dialog is open over another, only the upper one closes.
  • In New project, Enter in the address field does what Next does. Once you click Add more addresses, the field takes one address per line, and Enter starts a new line.
  • When you add a tag, Enter adds it and Esc cancels.
  • In the File properties window, Enter in Name renames the file.

The usual editing keys - Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V, Ctrl + X, Ctrl + A, Ctrl + Z - work in every field.
